Materials

  • glass mason jars (3 sizes for this look)
  • Americana Chalky Paint in Heritage and Chalk Paint in Lace (orange and off-white)
  • Americana multi-surface in Woodland (green)
  • wine corks (for stems)
  • artificial leaves (rip them off another set of stems or buy an ivy-style)

Instructions

  1. Clean the mason jars and set the lids aside. Paint the outsideone mason jar orange (the Heritage color), leaving the rim unpainted. Paint one mason jar off-white (the Lace color). Paint the third pumpkin a mix of orange and white (we used an equal amount of each color). Add a second coat when dry.
  2. While the first coat of paint is drying on the jars, paint the lids Woodland (green). They will need multiple coats, as well.
  3. Use the glue gun to attach the cork to the center of the painted lids and affix a leaf or two near the base of the cork. Tie off a piece of ribbon at the base.
  4. Seal these pumpkin chalk paint mason jars so that the paint doesn't get chipped in storage or when moving them around.

  1. At our house, my husband and I often bemoan the fact that fairies have not visited us. For instance, I’ll put off folding laundry until one of us is out of underwear, then I’ll say “well I guess I better fold the laundry since the laundry fairy didn’t come”. Hubby waits for the lawn fairy, who also skips our house. (-; (I almost always read the whole post!) These pumpkin jars are adorable and I am definitely going to make a few. Even though it’s currently still way over 100° here every afternoon.

  2. I will put cinnamon puffs in my big jar, I think it is a good all season mint that everyone could enjoy and they are individually wrapped. I buy a big 2 # container at Walmart. I have a nice recipe for spice tea that I enjoy on a cold winter day( along with the recipe) that I will put in the small jar. I like your good instructions. Thank you
